Effective worker management: the key to success
When man and machine interact in production, technical documentation forms an important working basis. Created digitally, they help to qualify workers, accompany important work steps and ensure quality standards.
Industry 4.0, networked manufacturing, adaptive production, process optimization, automation, artificial intelligence - at least in theory, industry is facing a golden age in which digital technologies will support and relieve the burden on people and, with an increase in reproducible quality, even complex tasks within the value chain can be managed competitively, efficiently and sustainably. Objectively speaking, this digital revolution in industry is still in its infancy in many sectors. One example of this is worker management with the help of technical documentation: From the qualification of new employees to in-process quality control and the implementation of measures for process adaptation and optimization, processes in industrial production are documented in order to provide workers with a reliable basis for the professional execution of individual work steps. In practice, this is all too often still done in analog form. This means that processes are elaborately documented, illustrated and explained and often provided as conventional text or presentation files or even in paper form. Dealing with such "manuals" is a disproportionate effort, not least in their creation, and also inconvenient to use during the process. If individual work steps have to be acknowledged or even documented by the worker in the interest of quality assurance, this is only possible in an additional work step - today often still in analog form. As a result, this form of worker guidance presents itself as a clear obstacle in a corporate strategy geared towards process optimization.
Digital worker guidance and efficient quality assurance with the tepcon "instructor"
With the tepcon "instructor", specialists can explain and digitally record even complex processes in multimedia step-by-step instructions. The user-friendly, intuitive user interface of the "instructor" supports the creation of work instructions and the visualization of work steps just as reliably and easily as it does the comprehension of the documented work steps.
Thanks to the support of mobile devices, workers can view the instructions directly at the machine. The display of the individual work steps, parallel to their actual execution, also enables the integration of logging. For example, the worker can be asked to explicitly confirm the correct execution of quality and safety-relevant work steps. It is also possible to record this using images that the worker creates on site and transmits digitally. Protocols created digitally in this way with the "instructor" can be transferred directly to other systems.
As web-based software, the tepcon "instructor" can be used on any platform and offers a uniform and therefore user-friendly look and feel across all end devices. Above all, the server-based system guarantees a uniform version status: whereas with analog or simple digital documentation there is always a risk of different versions being in circulation at the same time and, in the worst case, workers working with outdated information, this is not possible with the "instructor". In addition, the system simplifies the creation, checking and release of new versions and thus contributes to the continuous improvement of processes and workflows.
